Personal Injury and Property Damage Liability Defense Practice
This group represents insureds, self-insureds, individuals and business enterprises in a broad spectrum of matters. The Automobile unit handles commercial lines for insureds in the trucking, carting and livery industry. This unit also focuses on personal lines auto defense for individuals in New York and New Jersey. The Construction unit is well known for its experience in handling construction injury (New York Labor Law) issues. Moreover, in the past 15 years this unit has been involved in several significant construction defect cases ranging from multimillion-dollar public facilities to the construction of commercial and residential buildings and homes. The attorneys have developed significant experience in bringing large groups of claimants and defendants together for resolution through mediation or other alternative dispute resolution procedures. The attorneys in this group have also obtained several decisions concerning Hotel/Restaurant Innkeeper liability for which they represent a number of clients in the industry in actions arising at locations around the world. This group also represents clients in a number of Products Liability cases involving a diverse product mix, including elevators, escalators, lifts and vehicles.
Medical Malpractice Practice
The medical malpractice group has extensive experience in a large spectrum of health related matters including dental, nurses, mental health, nursing homes and other health care facilities. The firm represents lawyers, accountants, architects and engineers in malpractice actions in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Professional Liability/Errors and Omissions Practice
This group defends lawyers, accountants, other professionals as well as agents, broker dealers, and works with several clients on miscellaneous E&O programs.
Directors and Officers Practice
This group defends Directors and Officers for small and nonprofit entities including Condominium and Co-Operative Boards and Managing Agents.
Intellectual Property Practice
This group litigates cases involving unfair competition, trademark and other intellectual property matters.
Commercial Practice
Our commercial litigation and business practice group has developed in recent years to include a broad spectrum of business matters involving construction, the Uniform Commercial Code, intellectual property and technology related matters. We have also represented brokers in securities law and customer claims. This practice has been fueled by a strong demand from our litigation clients to expand our representation to encompass additional areas.
